The Domestic Violence Counsellor provides crisis intervention, assessment, individual and group counselling to women and children who have experienced domestic violence. Additional responsibilities include supporting women to achieve outcomes as identified in individual case plans, participate in discharge planning, shares responsibility for daily operations, care, and upkeep of the facility with other staff; promotes practices and conditions that ensure the safety and health of clients and staff. Support is provided to women and children staying in shelter and when answering a crisis line.
