Women’s Interval Home of Sarnia-Lambton would not be able to carry out the work we do without the assistance of our many dedicated and generous volunteers.
Volunteers are welcome to assist in many areas which include:
- Shelter maintenance support
- Special events
- Child care activities
How to apply
You are able to download our Volunteer Application form or pick it up from our reception office. All applications are screened by the Director of Services and those that have the skills, experience and time availability that we are looking for will be contacted for an interview and selection process including completing of a police check and participation in training/volunteer orientation for selected volunteer role. If there are no suitable positions you will be notified by email and your application will be kept on file for 6 months.
Volunteer training session is a 6 hour session. The in-depth training covers the dynamics of woman abuse and impact on children and health and safety. It introduces the new volunteer to the various programs available at the Women’s Interval Home of Sarnia-Lambton.
