- School-aged Children in Junior Kindergarten to Grade 12, residents at the Women's Interval Home with their moms, are encouraged to attend school at the shelter from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. each day if not able to attend their regular schools. Mother should inform the school that the child will be absent. Whether she tells the location of the child is left up to the mother.
- With the mother's permission, the teacher at the Women's Interval Home will contact the classroom teacher to discover the areas the class is currently studying. The teacher will strive to keep the student up with his classmates in the main subjects. The strongest emphasis will be placed on Math and English.
- The teacher will encourage the women to get involved in improving their own level of education and job preparedness. The teacher can help a woman evaluate her current education level, help with review of Math and English skills and get her enrolled in an upgrading program at the Adult Learning Centre.
- The teacher will also discuss with the women educational opportunities in the community such as ones with Lambton College, Apprenticeship Training, to name a few.
